President Donald Trump has asserted that he has the full support of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a US plan to end the Gaza war, stating plainly, “Yes on Bibi.” This endorsement strengthens a deal that is now “90 per cent done,” according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The plan, which Hamas has reportedly accepted in principle, involves the release of all Israeli hostages. In exchange for their freedom, Israel’s military would pull back to the “yellow line,” its position in mid-August.
Beyond the immediate ceasefire, the framework supported by Netanyahu includes a path for future stability. Rubio confirmed that Hamas has agreed “in principle” to discussions about the post-war governance of Gaza, a crucial element for a durable peace.
Trump has hailed the agreement as a “great deal for Israel” while simultaneously threatening Hamas with “complete obliteration” if it does not cede power. His claim of Netanyahu’s backing is critical for ensuring the deal’s implementation on the Israeli side.
With the political leadership aligned, negotiators are now finalizing the logistical details of the hostage exchange. These technical talks are the last step in a process that could soon bring the two-year conflict to a close.
